This resin set contains a pair of finely cast Martin Baker Mk.H5 ejection seats in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an aftermarket accessory that will replace the simplified seats from the base kit with a part of a markedly higher level of detail.
The Martin Baker seats of the Mk.H5 line were used in the early versions of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter-bomber, that is in the F-4B, F-4C and F-4D variants from the 1960s. A faithful rendition of the seat with its harness, levers and drawn-out pieces is one of the most conspicuous details of an open cockpit.
First wash the residue of the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand the marks down (with respiratory protection). Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). For the greatest effect it pays off to spray the seats with an airbrush and to bring out the harness with a shade and a delicate wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
