A set of three models of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in its early form, 1:100 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank named after Kliment Voroshilov. In the first months of fighting on the Eastern Front it was an unpleasant surprise for the attacker, because its armor withstood most of the anti-tank weapons then in common use and only artillery of larger calibers or a hit on the running gear could stop it. The price was great weight, a demanding transmission and unreliability that the crews struggled with throughout its service.
The package brings three KV-1 tanks, that is a whole platoon, in 1:100 scale. This is the scale used for tabletop wargames and for larger dioramas, where what matters is not one vehicle detail but the whole picture of a battlefield. The extent of the package and the building procedure are described in the manufacturer's enclosed instructions.
In a small scale it is color and shadow that decide the result, not the number of parts. Reach for the basic green of Soviet vehicles, pick the edges out with a lighter tone and darken the joints and corners instead, so that the model does not look flat. Apply dust from the bottom up and let it build up at the running gear and on the fenders. Three identical vehicles can take slight differentiation, a different number, a different degree of dusting; the platoon then does not look like one model printed three times.
The set suits tabletop battle players and modelers who build battlefields in a reduced scale and need several vehicles at once. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
