A rich royal blue from Vallejo's Model Color acrylic line. This is a modeling paint, not a kit — the package is a single 17 ml dropper bottle, with no parts to assemble. Model Color is a water-thinnable acrylic with a high pigment concentration that dries to a matte, even and durable surface.

Model Color or Model Air? The key difference

Vallejo sells several acrylic lines in parallel, and the difference between them matters for how you work. Model Color is a thicker acrylic developed mainly for brush application — if you want to spray it with an airbrush, you must thin it first (with water or Vallejo thinner, ideally the one made for airbrushing). The Model Air line, by contrast, is already set up straight from the bottle for spraying without thinning. This shade belongs to the Model Color line, so plan on thinning it.

Use

• Figures — the high pigmentation keeps the shade saturated even on small areas.
• Civilian equipment and vehicles where a clean, bold blue is needed.
• Mixing shades — a base for darker blues, or with white for lighter tones.

Work tips

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. The dropper allows precise dosing, drop by drop, and the paint does not dry in the nozzle. Apply two thinner coats rather than one heavy one — the rich blue then stays smooth and does not fill in engraved detail. Acrylic holds significantly better over a primer than on bare plastic.
