S004 Yellow - (Gloss) Spray

Mr.Color Spray – gloss yellow (Gunze / Mr.Hobby), 40 ml

A gloss lacquer spray (aerosol) by the Japanese brand Gunze Mr.Hobby in a volume of 40 ml. It is a lacquer ready for immediate application that needs neither an airbrush nor a compressor – ideal for modelers without a gun and for covering large areas fast. Watch out: yellow has the weakest coverage of all the shades. Over a dark surface it looks greenish, and it therefore has to go over a white or light base, otherwise the color will never reach a clean saturation.

Use

• Always spray over a light (ideally white) surface – over a dark one yellow turns green and loses saturation. A white surfacer is almost a necessity.
• Lay down thin coats and be patient; expect full coverage only after several passes.
• Shake for 1 to 2 minutes before spraying (there is a ball inside), otherwise the paint sprays thin.
• Keep a distance of 20 to 30 cm; too heavy a coat runs and creates orange peel. Spray in warm, dry conditions, otherwise a milky haze appears.
• Lacquer attacks plastic – be careful on thin parts and clear canopies, test on a hidden area first.

Who it is for

For car bodies, warning elements, construction and municipal vehicles and yellow markings. Thanks to the gloss the surface is suitable under decals. Given the low coverage a white surfacer is the recommended base; a clear coat comes in handy at the end.

Lacquer vapors – work only in a well-ventilated space and with a respirator. The aerosol is flammable, keep it away from flame and heat. The spray is not suited to fine detail, to large areas it is.
