Mr.Color Spray S043 Wood Brown – a semi-gloss wood brown (Gunze / Mr.Hobby), 40 ml

A semi-gloss lacquer spray (aerosol) by the Japanese brand Gunze Mr.Hobby with a volume of 40 ml in a medium wood brown. It is a lacquer ready for immediate application that needs neither an airbrush nor a compressor. The shade matches ordinary wood – ideal for the wooden elements of models and dioramas: crates, barrels, pallets, the wooden propellers of biplanes, the veneers of old aircraft and cars and small furniture. Wood is everywhere on models and a paint made for wood is a grateful shortcut to realism.

Use

• Shake for 1 to 2 minutes before spraying (there is a mixing ball inside), otherwise the paint sprays thin and unevenly.
• Lay down thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 cm; a heavy coat runs and forms orange peel.
• Spray in warm, dry conditions – in cold and damp a milky haze appears on the lacquer.
• It is a lacquer that attacks plastic – proceed carefully on thin parts and test on a hidden area first.
• A tip for realistic wood: use the brown as a base, go over it with a lighter shade using a dry brush for the drawing of the grain and bring the gaps between the planks out with a darker wash.

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas, biplanes and historical hardware with wooden parts, and for accessories such as crates, barrels and pallets. Washes for the drawing of the wood, modeling brushes for drybrushing, a flat varnish for the finish and further earth shades for shading make good companions.

Lacquer vapors – use only in a well-ventilated space and with a respirator. The aerosol is flammable, keep it away from flame and heat. The spray is not suited to fine detail, to areas it is.
