SG-16 Gundam Color Spray Titans Blue 1, Gunze

A lacquer aerosol spray in the darker blue Titans Blue 1 from the Gundam Color line (Mr.Hobby) of the Japanese brand Gunze. The shade is mixed as a factory color of the robots of the Titans faction, so it is applied straight from the can without thinning, without mixing and without an airbrush. It dries to a semi-gloss surface. It is a solvent-based lacquer.

The color and the real subject

The Titans were an elite and notorious strike unit of the Earth Federation in the Gundam world (the Zeta Gundam series). Their robots wore a distinctive dark blue two-tone camouflage made up of two shades of blue. The Gundam Color line therefore offers a pair of paints: Titans Blue 1 (SG-16, the darker) and Titans Blue 2 (SG-17, the lighter). Anyone building robots in Titans colors (the Gundam Mk-II in Titans finish, the GM Quel or the Hazel, for example) usually needs both shades, one for the dark and the other for the light areas of the two-tone camouflage.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly before use and during work as well.
• Spray thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 to 30 cm; light coats protect bare plastic from being attacked.
• Work in warm, dry conditions.
• For the two-tone effect combine it with the lighter SG-17 Titans Blue 2 and separate the areas by masking.
• Acrylic paints can be applied over dried lacquer; the reverse does not hold.

For Gunpla builders who want the true colors of the Titans robots without an airbrush. For the complete two-tone camouflage we recommend getting the lighter SG-17 Titans Blue 2 as well.

A solvent-based lacquer: highly flammable, in a pressurized can. Spray in a well-ventilated area or outdoors and use a respirator with a filter against organic vapors. Keep out of the reach of children.
