SG08 Gundam Color Spray MS Purple

Gunze SG08 Gundam Color Spray MS Purple (lacquer spray, 100 ml)

A lacquer aerosol from Gunze in the Gundam Color Spray line. The shade MS Purple is the factory purple of the robots, the Mobile Suits (MS for short), of the Zeon faction. Purple robots are not as frequent as green ones, and that is exactly why the striking shade stands out on atypical and assault machines (the heavily armed Kämpfer, for example) and on custom mecha of your own. The paint comes from the Mr.Color lacquer program, is pre-thinned and ready to spray without an airbrush. The finish is gently semi-gloss, in the style of mecha models.

Where it is useful

MS Purple is ideal for robots on which purple plays the leading part, and also as a secondary accent on joints, thrusters or weapons. (Gundam is a Japanese robot saga; Zeon is the rebel faction of its story, with a varied palette of colorful machines.) For builders of their own color combinations it is a practical route to an even purple without laboring over an airbrush.

Use

• Shake the can well before spraying and between coats.
• Spray from a distance of roughly 25 cm in thin coats, so that the purple does not run.
• Work in warm, dry conditions: cold and damp dull the finish and reduce adhesion.
• Build the depth of color gradually, in two or three coats; let each one become tacky.
• It is compatible with Mr.Color lacquers: primer, panel line accents and a final matte varnish.

Who it is for

For Gunpla builders who want the factory purple of the Zeon robots or who are building custom mecha of their own and need a deep, even coat straight from the can.

Note: this is a lacquer. The solvent attacks plastic and reacts aggressively with paints on a different base, so spray thin coats, ventilate thoroughly and wear a respirator. Flammable; protect it from heat and flame.
