Gunze SG09 Gundam Color Spray MS Grey Zeon (lacquer spray, 100 ml)

A lacquer aerosol from Gunze in the Gundam Color Spray line. The shade MS Grey (Zeon) is the specific Zeon gray: a subdued military gray with a slight green cast, of the kind worn by the robots (Mobile Suits, MS for short) of the Zeon faction, above all by the legendary Zakus. It is not an ordinary neutral gray; the paint is mixed to match the tone of the Zeon machines exactly. It comes from the Mr.Color lacquer program, is pre-thinned and ready to spray without an airbrush. The finish is gently semi-gloss, in the style of mecha models.

Zeon, not the Federation: watch out for the mix-up

Gundam is a Japanese robot saga; Zeon is the rebel faction of its story, the opponent of the Federation, and its machines have a color scheme of their own. That is precisely why there is a separate gray for Zeon and a separate one for the Federation: a fan building a Zeon mech wants exactly this Zeon gray, not the Federation shade. The Federation MS Grey is a separate shade in the line (SG05), so do not mix the two: a Zaku takes this Zeon version.

Use

• Shake the can for at least a minute before spraying and keep mixing it during work as well.
• Spray from a distance of roughly 25 cm in several thin coats.
• Work in warm, dry conditions; damp and cold spoil both the shade and the sheen.
• Let each coat become tacky; full coverage comes only with the second or third one.
• It is compatible with Mr.Color lacquers: primer, panel line accents for the engraved grooves and a final matte varnish.

Who it is for

For Gunpla builders who are putting together Zeon robots and want the true factory gray straight from the can, with no airbrush and no mixing. Exactly the shade that makes a Zaku a Zaku.

Note: this is a lacquer. The solvent attacks plastic and is not compatible with paints on a different base, so spray thin coats, ventilate thoroughly and wear a respirator. Flammable; protect it from heat and flame.
