Slow-setting cement for plastic models, 40 ml

A cement for polystyrene models in a 40 milliliter package, built to set more slowly than ordinary quick cement. It does not work like an ordinary glue but dissolves the surface of both parts, which then join into one piece. That is exactly why the joint holds better than any bond, and why it can be sanded after drying just like the surrounding plastic.

When slow cement comes in handy

Everywhere a part cannot be seated in one movement: on long fuselage joints, on large surfaces and on assemblies that need to be lined up against each other. Quick cement does not give you that time and the modeler ends up with a part glued crooked. Slow cement lets the material soften, the part can be moved and only then is the joint pressed together. In exchange it takes longer before the model can be worked on further.

Use

• Apply a small amount to one of the surfaces being joined
• Press the parts together and hold them until the joint starts to hold on its own
• The excess is squeezed out as a bead, which is sanded down once dry
• Do not use the cement on clear parts or on polished surfaces, it will fog them
• Close the cap carefully after work, the solvent evaporates
• Let the joint cure properly before you start sanding

Safety note

The cement is flammable and contains volatile solvents. Work in a well-ventilated space, away from open flame, and avoid contact with the eyes and the skin. Keep out of the reach of children.
