SCN140 stainless nippers are Japanese nippers 140 mm long made of stainless steel, intended for cutting soft metal wire.
Responsibility details are not available.
Japanese-made nippers with an overall length of 140 millimeters and jaws of stainless steel. Compared with ordinary tool steel, stainless resists corrosion better, so the tool takes damp and work with water-thinnable paints and chemicals without rust breaking out on it. The longer body gives the hand more force than short modeling nippers.
The nippers are built mainly for cutting thin soft metal wire, that is copper, aluminum and brass. That is work which ruins the edge of ordinary nippers meant for plastic. They therefore suit the wiring of models, wire pins, shortening brass profiles and small jobs on electrical accessories. They can be used on plastic sprues as well, but a thin flat jaw is better for the cleanest cut at the part.
Hold the wire firmly or support it so that the cut-off piece does not fly off, and protect your eyes. Feed the material as close to the joint as possible, where the nippers have the most force. After working with chemicals, wipe the jaws dry; stainless does not rust easily, but residues of dyes and acids stay on it. Do not use the nippers on hardened steel wire or on guitar strings, which call for other tools.
The longer body of the nippers gives the hand more leverage, so the cut takes less force than with short modeling nippers.
