A red matte paint for soft vinyl figures. It suits costumes, equipment and warm accents on skin and armor.

Red is among the shades that look far stronger in the bottle than they turn out on a model. Its pigment lets light through, and on a dark or strongly tinted base it therefore darkens into a brownish tone. The solution is not a heavier application but a light intermediate coat – only over that does the shade light up into the color it was bought for.
On a softened material curing takes longer than on hard plastic, because the surface slowly gives off plasticizer and that slows the process. The difference between dry and cured is meanwhile essential: the paint can be dry to the touch and still burnish or take an imprint under the pressure of a finger. A finished part is therefore better left to rest overnight in a cool and dry place, and only then moved, masked or clear-coated.
Most often it carries a cloak, a sash, straps or a badge on armor, but it works well in small things too – as a drop on a lip, as a strengthened tone in the corner of an eye, or as the flush of joints and fingertips, which takes away a figure's plastic look. Mixed with the white of the same line it gives a whole range of flesh tones; with black it moves toward wine. The matte finish meanwhile keeps under control the gloss that would otherwise visually inflate the area of a saturated red. Anyone who wants a glossy surface of lacquer or leather instead reaches for a gloss clear coat right at the end, when everything else beneath it is finished.
