A gun metal shade primer from Titans Hobby combines an undercoat with a dark metallic tone on which metallic paints build up well.
Responsibility details are not available.
An undercoat in a dark metallic shade. The primer is there to make later coats adhere to smooth plastic, resin and metal and at the same time to give the model a colored base. A dark metallic tone is useful for that double role: metallic paints gain depth on it and do not look like silver paint on a light base.
It is applied with an airbrush in thin coats onto a clean, degreased and dry surface. It is used as an undercoat for metallic shades on weapons, exhausts, chains, engines and the metal parts of figures. On its own it also serves as a final dark metallic tone if you work over it with a dry brush and a dark wash.
Make the first coat really thin, otherwise you will fill in the engraved lines. Wash the model before applying it; on resin that removes the remains of the mold release agent. Build metallic paints up on the dark base in light passes and let the underlying tone show through in places, because a uniform silver area looks unnatural. Try the shade and the way you apply it on a test piece before you start on the model.
Shake the paint thoroughly before use. Work in a ventilated room and keep it out of the reach of children.
