A Vallejo set with paints and brushes, five pieces in all. Suitable as a start for anyone painting a figure for the first time.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set by Vallejo contains paints and brushes, five pieces altogether. The point of such a package is simple: anyone starting out does not have to work out which bottles and which brush go together and can paint straight away. Paints from one line have the same binder, so they can be mixed with one another, and the enclosed brushes match the size of small figures.
Wash and degrease the figure first, as remains from manufacture usually need to be removed from the surface. Then apply an evening-out ground; on a bare smooth surface acrylic paint holds badly and is rubbed off during handling. Shake the paint before use and thin it with water in small amounts until it runs freely off the bristle. It is applied in thin coats, as one heavy coat will cover the relief of the figure.
Dip the brush only halfway up the bristles, as paint that has run into the metal ferrule will splay a brush beyond saving. Rinse it during the work and do not leave it standing point down in a jar. When you have finished, rinse the bristles out, bring them back to a point with your fingers and let them dry lying flat. Dried acrylic paint is hard to get out of the bristles, so it is best to wash them at once.
For beginning painters of figures and as a gift for someone who wants to try painting out. Figures and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
