The unearthly flesh shade Xpress Demonic Skin for demons, mutants and other infernal vermin. In a single application it lays both the base and the deepening of the muscle drawing.
Responsibility details are not available.
Demonic Skin is a flesh tone turned away from everything human. It is exactly with such colors that the greatest trouble tends to be in finding a matching shadow: with human flesh the modeler is helped by a brown, but with supernatural skin a brown knocks the whole impression back to the ordinary.
Producing a matching-looking shadow at home for an unusual base tone means adding red, brown and black drop by drop by trial and testing the result on a piece of plastic after every addition. It takes a long time, a fair amount of paint is used up in the process, and the shade still cannot be repeated exactly. An application that creates its own shadow by the way it settles cancels that whole procedure; the muscle drawing of a demonic torso appears while it dries.
Large muscular areas will be managed by one stroke of a wider brush; fine parts such as a face or fingers need a smaller brush and less paint. It pays to turn the model while it dries so that the paint does not always run one way and settle on one side of the part only. A dried place can be painted over with an opaque paint without risk if the result does not sit right.
A monster tends to be half skin and half equipment, and both can be led with the same technique. Leather straps, coarse cloth and rusted metal take a fluid shade readily, because all three surfaces have a pronounced structure the pigment settles into. Smooth polished areas, by contrast, need a classic covering coat.
