A set of twelve European mounted knights for tabletop games and dioramas in 28 mm size. Up to six riders can be built according to the instructions as light cavalry, that is as mounted archers or sergeants. The figures are made of hard plastic, are supplied as separate parts and have to be glued together and painted.
The period covered by the set matches the high phase of the Hundred Years War, from the battle of Agincourt in 1415 to the siege of Orleans in 1429. Heavy cavalry of that time wore full plate armor of rounded shapes, a bascinet helm and, over the armor, often a colored jupon with a coat of arms. Lighter riders served for reconnaissance, for pursuit and to protect the flanks, so the set covers both of the roles an army needed.
Dry fit the parts first and only then glue the rider into the saddle, otherwise the legs will not close around the flanks of the horse. Build the metal armor over a dark base and bring it out with a dry brush, and build the coat of the horse the other way round, from a mid value toward the light. Heraldry is the main ornament of these figures, so plan the colors of the individual houses in advance to keep the whole unit from merging together.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
