A set of thirty-six unpainted figures of American Civil War infantry, in 28 millimeter size. The figures are in hard plastic and multi-part: bodies, heads, arms and weapons are glued separately, so you put the poses and the weapons together as you like. It is the basic infantry set on which a whole unit can be built and to which gunners, cavalry and a skirmish screen are then added.
Civil War infantry fought in a two-deep line with muzzle-loading rifled muskets. The combination of old tactics and a new weapon with a longer range was the main cause of the enormous losses: an attacking line covered the last few hundred meters under fire that could not be avoided. Equipment and weapons changed during the war and the supply of the two sides was very unequal.
Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers at a distance and trim the rest with a knife. They are glued with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene. Apply a primer. Decide on the poses before gluing, as multi-part figures allow a unit to be varied markedly by the choice of heads and of how the weapon is held.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
