An injection-molded plastic kit from the maker Border Model in a version that needs no glue and supplies some of the parts already painted. The parts hold on pins and locking tabs, so the model goes together without chemicals and without waiting for anything to dry. It is a way to reach a finished piece even without a well-equipped workshop, and at the same time a good start for someone only beginning with modeling.

Building and painting tips

Assembly without glue does not mean the model has to stay as it came out of the box. After a dry fit the joints can be secured with a drop of liquid cement so that they hold for good. Pre-painted parts only need unifying with a dark wash into the recesses and gaps, a dry brush on the edges and on the running gear, and dust pigments on the underside of the hull. A matte varnish at the end unifies the sheen and fixes the weathering.
