A decal set from the brand Studio27 for the plastic kit of the McLaren MP4/31 Formula 1 car in the late specification of the season, in 1:20 scale. The water-slide decals reproduce the look of carbon and Kevlar weave on the monocoque, the floor, the wings and other composite parts, so that the surface takes on a realistic texture without painting.

The car

The McLaren MP4/31 was the Formula 1 car of the 2016 season from the McLaren-Honda partnership. Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button took turns at its wheel. The late version captures the car's later aerodynamic specification from the course of the season.

Use and tips

• Apply the decals to a smooth, preferably gloss painted surface.
• Offer the part up and trim the sheet to the shape you need.
• Use a decal softener to settle them onto shaped surfaces.
• Once dry, seal them with clear coat to even the surface out.
