A set from the SPACE range for the two-seat trainer version of the Hawker Hunter T.7 in 1:32 scale. This is not an airplane kit but a cockpit accessory. Its basis is 3D decals of the main and the side instrument panels: they have relief, colored backgrounds and legible dial faces, so they go onto smooth plastic and painting instruments by hand falls away. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Revell kit.
The Hunter T.7 was a two-seat trainer derivative of the British Hawker Hunter fighter, with side-by-side seats. The widened nose gave the instructor and the pupil the same view and the machine was used for converting pilots onto jets as well as for continuation training. In the large 1:32 scale the whole cockpit is literally on show once the canopy is open, so the rendering of the instruments matters a great deal.
3D decals are applied onto a clean, smooth and ideally satin surface. The panel is first sprayed in a dark shade, then the decal is released in water, positioned and pressed down gently with a cotton swab. Do not use a decal softener with this range; it would attack the printed resin. Bend the steel belts over the edge of a ruler and shape them with tweezers.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Revell kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
