A set of pre-cut masks in yellow masking tape for the glazing of the Japanese T-1 jet trainer. It covers both production versions, that is, the T-1A and the T-1B. The target kit is the Japanese T-1 from Platz.
This was the first jet aircraft designed and built in Japan after the Second World War. It was created as a trainer for the air force there, sixty-six were built and it stayed in service for decades. The two versions differed in the engine used. Beware of a confusion: the designation T-1A is also carried by an American jet trainer from a different maker, which has nothing to do with this machine, and the mask does not fit it.
The glazing of the tandem cockpit of a trainer is long and busy, so masking it by hand with tape takes longer than building the airframe parts. Pre-cut masks hold the same framing width along the whole length and leave no adhesive residue when they come off.
For modelers who build postwar Japanese subjects and want clean framing without masking by hand. The maker is a Czech brand specializing in masks and masking aids.
The Platz kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
