Use

• A metal surface reveals every flaw in the base, so level the joints and sanding marks before you start spraying.
• Apply thin coats; a smooth, glossy base gives a markedly better metal look than a matte one.
• The difference between the shades can be used to tell the individual panels apart, which is a typical mark of all-metal aircraft.
• Try masking a metal surface on an offcut first, as adhesive tape can damage the surface.
• Stir the bottle before every filling of the cup, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
