3D printed German MG 81J aircraft machine guns with an ammunition feed in 1:48 scale from the maker 3DF. The manufacturer states two pieces in the left and two in the right version, so four weapons in all. They are not kits but replacement parts for a finished model of an aircraft; the weapons are seated in defensive positions and the model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
The MG 81 was a German aircraft machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber, developed from the infantry MG 34. It had a very high rate of fire and was used in the defensive positions of bombers and reconnaissance aircraft, where it replaced older and slower weapons. The J version was single-barreled; alongside it there was the paired MG 81Z. The left and the right version differ in the side on which the ammunition is fed, so a model that has positions on both sides needs both.
Parts from 3D printing are small and brittle; separate them with a fine-toothed saw or with nippers, never break them off. Level the remains of the supports with a fine file. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting, spray on a thin coat of primer; a heavy coat would flood the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
