A figure of a fantasy warrior woman in 1:12 scale, that is roughly fifteen centimeters for a standing figure. It is not a model of a real subject but a free artistic work in a genre that rests on elaborate armor, a dynamic pose and a strong story for the character. It is supplied as a kit for assembly and painting.
In a large scale nothing can be hidden. The transitions of shade have to be smooth, because on a fifteen-centimeter figure the eye picks out every jump, and at the same time there is room for techniques that make no sense on a small figure: glazing, fine transitions, the rendering of the textures of fabric and metal. That is exactly why large figures are built more like a painting than like a model, and a single figure can easily take several evenings.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. Cut off the remains of manufacture with a new blade, level the surface and protect your airways while sanding. Try the assembly dry and consider which parts to paint separately, because once glued you cannot reach them. Build the skin up from a darker base toward the light with thin glazes, and let the metal come out over a black base with polishing in a metallic shade.
