1:1200 Waterline Sink the Bismark is a set of plastic ship kits from which you can build the whole pursuit of the German battleship Bismarck.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of injection-molded plastic ship kits in 1:1200 scale, done as waterline models, that is without the underwater part of the hull. It contains vessels of both sides of the North Atlantic pursuit of May 1941: the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen against the British aircraft carrier Ark Royal, the battlecruiser Hood, the cruiser Suffolk and a pair of destroyers. It lets you build the whole scene, not just one ship.
The sortie of the Bismarck into the Atlantic set off the largest naval hunt of the war. In the clash in the Denmark Strait the battlecruiser Hood blew up and three men of her crew survived, which for the British meant a blow to their prestige. The Bismarck tried to escape to France, but an aircraft from the Ark Royal jammed her rudders with a torpedo and the ship was left unable to maneuver. The following morning British forces caught up with her and sank her.
In 1:1200 scale the parts are very small, so work with tweezers and apply the glue with the tip of a toothpick. Use liquid cement on the plastic. The waterline version positively invites setting the models into a modeled sea surface. Choose muted colors and keep the patina fine, because in this scale any overly pronounced effect looks oversized.
The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
