Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the famous Swedish royal sailing warship Vasa in 1:150 scale. The model offers a detailed hull with a great deal of decoration, decks with gratings and hatches, a richly ornamented stern with statues, the gun armament, separate gun ports, boats, ready-made shrouds, textured sails, thread for the rigging, a stand and flags. It is built from individual parts and supplied unpainted.
The Vasa was the pride of the fleet of King Gustav II Adolf of Sweden. This mighty ship, about seventy meters long, carried two gun decks and hundreds of gilded statues. She sank tragically on her very first voyage in the harbor of Stockholm on 10 August 1628. After more than three hundred years she was raised and today she is the main attraction of a museum in Stockholm.
Bring out the rich carved decoration with washes and a dry brush, and render the gilded parts in metallic gold. Paint the hull and the decks separately before the final assembly. Plan the rigging and the shrouds in advance and tension them with a light touch. Use thin cement on the plastic and sand the joints carefully.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
