1:24 50 Years of Porsche 911 (Cabriolet) Gift Set is a plastic kit of the open Porsche 911 in 1:24 scale from the German firm Revell, offered as a gift boxing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the cabriolet of the famous Porsche 911 sports range, and its designation carries a reference to fifty years of its production. Revell released it as a gift set, that is in a form prepared to be handed straight to the recipient.
The 911 range has been built in Zuffenhausen, Germany, since 1963 and is among the longest-produced sports cars in the world. Its hallmarks remain the powerplant mounted behind the rear axle, the sloping tail and the round headlights that the car has carried generation after generation. The version without a fixed roof came into the range later than the coupe and opened it up to buyers who wanted to drive under the open sky.
The body of a sports car stands or falls on a smooth glossy surface. It pays to level the parting lines carefully, spray a filler primer over them and lay the shade down in thin coats. On an open car the interior is in full view, so it deserves more attention than on a closed body - pick out the dashboard, shade the seats and mask the bright surrounds only once the varnish has fully dried.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The scope of the gift boxing differs between individual releases.
