F and G tank in the pattern used by the 5th Panzer Regiment. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the vehicle: the tank itself is built separately. The manufacturer makes two versions of the set and they differ in the design of the brackets, so compare photographs of the vehicle you are building before you buy.
The Panzer III was a German medium tank whose Ausf. F and G versions were produced in 1940 and 1941. In the Ausf. G the 5 cm KwK 38 L/42 gun went into the turret. The 5th Panzer Regiment belonged to the 5th Light Division and later to the 21st Panzer Division, that is to the German forces in North Africa. Crews hung spare track links on the front of the hull and on the superstructure: they were a reserve for repairing the running gear and at the same time improvised extra protection.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the marks left by the print supports away with a sharp scalpel and level the area with a file or a sanding sponge; protect your airways while sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as polystyrene cement does not hold on resin. Spray primer before painting. The links come out well with a dark wash in the recesses and light drybrushing on the edges, and dust pigment suits vehicles from Africa.
This is an accessory for a model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
