Aber 76.2 mm ZiS-5 barrel for the KV-1, 1:35 is a turned metal replacement barrel for models of the Soviet heavy tank KV-1. A detail accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from the Polish brand Aber is a turned metal replacement gun barrel for the 76.2 mm ZiS-5 gun for models of the Soviet heavy tank KV-1 in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank but a precise detail part that replaces the plastic barrel of the base kit and markedly raises the realism of the main armament.
A metal barrel has a perfectly symmetrical profile with no mold seam and a precisely turned muzzle, which on plastic parts usually does not line up or has to be laboriously blended. The result is a straight, sharp barrel that will take close-up focus as well as weathering.
Clean the metal part free of grease and roughen it lightly where it is to be glued. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or with two-part epoxy. Before painting, a good primer for metal is crucial, otherwise the paint will not hold well. After that the barrel is painted and weathered in the same way as the rest of the model.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
