88 mm barrel with a perforated muzzle brake, 1:35 — a 3D-printed resin accessory from GINGER CAT.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed resin tank barrel of 88 mm caliber with a perforated muzzle brake in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. A perforated brake has a row of openings in its shells, through which the propellant gases escape to the sides, and it is therefore markedly visible on a model. The manufacturer does not state the particular type of weapon or the vehicle, so we recommend comparing the illustration with the barrel on your model before buying.
German tank 8.8 cm guns fell into the shorter KwK 36 of the Tiger I and the longer KwK 43, carried by the Tiger II and by the Jagdpanther tank destroyer. Each of them had a different muzzle brake, and even within one weapon the shape of the brake changed during production, from the twin-baffle type to later simplified forms. The muzzle brake is therefore the detail on a model by which a specialist can tell which machine and which production series it is.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
