Turned barrels for the German A7V tank in 1:35 scale from Aber: a metal replacement for the armament of the first German tank. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal barrels in 1:35 scale for a model of the German A7V tank of the First World War. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic parts. The A7V had its armament spread around the whole hull, so the barrels are visible from every side of the model, and plastic parts with a parting line are distracting on a feature that prominent.
The A7V was the only German tank to reach series production in the First World War, and only a few dozen were built. It was a tall armored box on the chassis of an artillery tractor with a large crew. It carried a gun at the front and several machine guns around the hull, so it could fire in practically every direction. Against British tanks it had poorer cross-country ability but more firepower at close range.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the turret as possible and drill the seating so that the pin of the metal barrel sits firmly without passing right through. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is bonded with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate, applied drop by drop. Fit the barrel at the very end of the build so that it is not bent during handling, and check its axis by eye from the front while the glue sets. On a vehicle with several barrels, mark in advance which one goes where, because they differ from one another only slightly.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
