1:35 Besa Machine Gun (For British-Built AFVs) is a 3D-printed accessory from Lithokraft: the British Besa machine gun for British armored vehicles. It is a detail part, not a kit of the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed resin set in 1:35 scale. It holds the Besa machine gun, that is the standard machine gun armament of British tanks and armored cars of the Second World War, in the version for vehicles of British manufacture. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the vehicle. The thin printed part captures the fluting of the barrel and the shape of the cooling jacket considerably better than a plastic casting from a mold.
The Besa was a British machine gun in the unusual caliber of 7.92 mm, because it came about as a licensed adaptation of the Czechoslovak ZB-53 heavy machine gun, also known as the vz. 37. The British kept the original central European cartridge for it, so they had a weapon in service that did not fit among the other British calibers, but which worked excellently in a vehicle. The Besa appears in the Valentine, Matilda, Churchill, Cromwell and Centurion tanks and, in the heavier caliber of 15 mm, on armored cars as well.
Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry thoroughly. Cut the print supports off with a sharp scalpel and level the areas with a sanding sponge; with the barrel take care that it stays straight. It is bonded with super glue. Paint it with dark steel or with outright black with a touch of blue, then lighten the edges gently with graphite dust or with a metallic pigment; darken the inside of the cooling jacket with a wash.
This is an accessory for a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
