This item is not a tank kit but an add-on set. It provides the internal structure of the fighting compartment of the Italian L6/40 light tank, that is what is visible with the hatches open and what the base box does not address. The parts are plastic and the set is intended for the L6/40 kits of the same maker.
An open hatch or a swung-back turret turns a closed model into a scene the viewer looks into. That is exactly why interior sets are made: they add the fighting compartment floor, the bulkheads, the stowage of the armament and other internal elements that did not fit into the base mold. Without them the inside looks empty and the hatches have to stay shut.
The interior is painted before the hull is closed, and the work goes from the lightest tone. It works well to build the model in groups: first the floor and the side walls, then the equipment and finally the closing of the hull. A dark wash suits the pressings, and a dry brush or graphite suits the wear on the edges. Because the set fills out the inside of a particular kit, try a dry fit of the parts before gluing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and serves as an accessory to a kit, which it does not include.
