1:35 Dragon's teeth - anti-tank obstacles (ICM)

This injection-molded plastic set in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer ICM reproduces the concrete anti-tank obstacles known as dragon's teeth. It is neither a kit of a vehicle nor a figure but a set of diorama accessories. The package holds a set of pyramid-shaped concrete obstacles, from which a continuous line of defense can be put together.

The real subject

Concrete anti-tank obstacles in the shape of truncated pyramids were used from the Second World War onward as fortification engineer obstacles. Their task was not merely to stop armored vehicles but also to channel their movement into areas covered by fire. To this day they remain among the characteristic features of fortified lines and battlefields.

Building and painting tips

• Glue the parts with ordinary cement for plastic models.
• Concrete looks best with a matte gray base color, which you bring to life with a dry brush and pigments.
• Into the joints and at the foot of the obstacles a wash suits, and a deposit of soil or grass to set them into the terrain.
