1:35 German Mini-submarine Hai is a plastic kit of the German single-seat Hai midget submarine in 1:35 scale from the maker Mikromir, with clear parts and a photo-etched fret.

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale, the Mikromir part number 35-006 from the Ukrainian maker. According to the manufacturer the package holds a sprue of plastic, a sprue of clear parts and a photo-etched fret. The manufacturer offers two finishes to spray - the prototype and the series form of the craft in Kriegsmarine service. Note, however: the surviving evidence says that only the prototype was built, so the series finish is more a projected state than a historical unit. Check the extent of the package on the box.
The Hai was the peak of the German line of single-seat attack craft: an improved Marder taken to an extreme. The hull was eleven meters long with a width of only fifty-three centimeters, that is, exactly the caliber of a standard torpedo. Larger batteries fitted into the longer hull and the craft gained a speed below the surface of up to twenty knots, which no other submarine then had. The price was a short endurance, around two hours. The craft was operated by the K-Verband command, which had charge of the smallest Kriegsmarine submarines. The prototype failed on its trial runs, however, and no further production followed.
A long smooth hull means that the parting seam is the main work: fill it and sand through several grits. Mask the pilot's transparent canopy before spraying and glue it on last with cement for clear parts, so that it does not fog. Glue the photo-etched fret with cyanoacrylate glue only after spraying. Choose in advance which of the two finishes you are building - it will show in the painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
