A resin ammunition set for the German heavy 12.8 cm PaK 44 gun in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle or of a weapon, but an accessory for the interior of a fighting vehicle, for an artillery scene and for dioramas. It is made by the Polish brand PANZER ART in its accessory line, the manufacturer's part number SU35-053. Check the exact contents of the package on the box.
The 12.8 cm PaK 44 was a German gun of 128 mm caliber with a barrel 55 calibers long, that is 7.02 m. It appears under several designations, among them K 44, PaK 44 and PaK 80. The Jagdtiger tank destroyer carried it as its main armament, and for the superheavy Maus and E-100 tanks it was planned as the 12.8 cm KwK 44 L/55. What matters for the modeler is that the ammunition was separate-loading: the shell and the cartridge case with the propellant charge were loaded one after the other, and that is exactly why the Jagdtiger had two loaders. The shell weighed around 28 kg and the muzzle velocity reached 950 m/s with the heavy charge.
Wash the parts of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Resin holds only on super glue and a primer is a must. The brass cartridge cases stand out when a dark wash is drawn over the metallic paint and the edges are highlighted. Compare the colored bands and rings on the shells with a photograph of the machine you are building. In the same line PANZER ART also makes ammunition for the 8.8 cm KwK 43 and PaK 43 under the manufacturer's part number SU35-054 — the calibers are not interchangeable.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
