1:35 Israeli helmet M76 (OR-201) with camouflage cover (detail) is a small modeling accessory for figures: an Israeli helmet with a camouflage cover in 1:35 scale, in the version marked as detailed. It is not a kit or a whole figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a stand-alone accessory for figure painters and diorama builders, not a vehicle model or a whole figure. The set brings a single item of equipment, the Israeli M76 helmet, also known under the designation OR-201, with a fabric camouflage cover drawn over it. Use it to swap the helmet supplied with a basic figure, to put in the hands of a standing figure, on an equipment crate or loose in a scene. The 1:35 scale is the most rewarding for this kind of accessory, because the cover and its folds read clearly in it.
The OR-201 is an Israeli field helmet with a deep shell and a fairly short brim, which differs at first glance in shape from European and American types. In practice it was worn almost always with a fabric cover pulled over the shell and drawn tight around the rim, so the look of the helmet is set by the cover rather than by the shell itself. The cover is exactly what distinguishes this set from the variant with a bare shell that the same maker also produces.
First wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry thoroughly; residue of release agent or grease from the fingers will reliably make the paint fail. Separate it from the casting block with a saw or a sharp knife, not with cutters, as a small part is easily crushed by them. Cyanoacrylate holds on resin as well as on plastic, so on a part this small it is a safer choice than ordinary cement for plastic. Prepare the surface with a primer, paint the cover matte and, if a piece of the shell rim shows, paint it a shade differently. Dry brushing brings out the edges of the folds, while a thin wash draws them in, and the helmet immediately gains volume.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a figure are not included, unless stated otherwise.
