KV-1 / KV-2 - Engine Deck Screen Version 2, 1:35 is the grille over the engine compartment of the Soviet heavy tanks, printed in resin. It is an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed detail set for the Soviet KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks, not a kit of the vehicle. It replaces the grille over the engine compartment, that is the surface which is visible from above on a model and which comes out of injection-molded plastic as a solid part with engraving. The manufacturer lists two versions of the grille; this is the second of them, so it has to be compared with the real vehicle you are building.
The KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks had large grilles over the engine and the radiators through which air was drawn inside. Because they sit on a horizontal surface, the light falls on them from above and the depth of the grille is therefore at its most noticeable. The machines were also built in several plants and the grilles differed in detail, which is why it is worth checking which pattern matches the version and the production period of the real vehicle.
Shave the original surface off the kit and level the opening so that the grille sits without a gap. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) applied to the edges of the opening, not to the grille. Apply filler primer before painting. Spray the inside under the grille dark, because light plastic showing through destroys the impression of depth.
The set contains only the printed parts listed. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
