KV-1 / KV-2 - Turnbuckles and Brackets 1:35 is a set of turnbuckles and brackets for the tow cables of the Soviet heavy tanks, printed in resin. It is an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed detail set for the Soviet KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks, not a kit of the vehicle. It covers the small hardware that held the tow cables against the hull: the turnbuckles and their brackets. In injection-molded plastic these parts are usually merged into one shape with the cable, or missing altogether, so the cable on a model is simply glued to the armor.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank whose armor shrugged off most German anti-tank weapons in the first part of the war; the KV-2 was a derivative with a tall turret and a 152 mm howitzer for attacking fortifications. Both machines were heavy, unreliable and often had to be towed, so the tow cables were not display equipment but daily gear. Turnbuckles and brackets held them on the hull and at the same time allowed the cable to be tightened.
The parts are tiny, so stick them to a strip of masking tape before you cut them off to keep them from flying away. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade and sand the area smooth. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and fit the cable, made from your own twisted wire or copper wire, only once the joint has set. Apply filler primer before painting and suggest the bare metal with graphite or a metallic pigment after the weathering.
The set contains only the printed parts listed. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
