Rye Field Model RM-2022 is a set of workable track links made by 3D printing, for models of the Leopard 2A5, 2A6 and 2A7 tank in 1:35 scale. It is an add-on for a kit; the tank model is not in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RM-2022 set from Rye Field Model holds track links made by 3D printing in resin. It is not a tank kit but a replacement track run for a model of the Leopard 2 in the A5, A6 and A7 versions in 1:35 scale. The links are workable, so the assembled run can be seated on the road wheels and allowed to sag naturally. Rye Field Model also issues the same tracks as injection-molded plastic links under RM-5057; compare the pattern against a photograph of the vehicle you are building.
The Leopard 2 in the 2A5, 2A6 and 2A7 versions runs on Diehl 570 series tracks with replaceable rubber pads. The track is a prominent feature on a modern Leopard: the pads are wide and square, and under load they show clearly through the dust and mud that settles on them. The versions named differ from one another in armor, gun and electronics, but their running gear is essentially the same.
3D-printed parts are glued with cyanoacrylate (super glue); ordinary plastic cement will not bond them. Wash the links before building and cut the print supports away carefully; protect your airways while sanding. A primer coat is a must, without it paint will not hold on the print. Assemble the run dry first and only then seat it on the wheels. Give the rubber pads a different tone from the metal part of the link, or the run will merge into one flat surface.
It is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
