The M24 Chaffee is an American light tank from the end of the Second World War. Compared with the earlier light types it got above all heavier armament, a 75 mm gun in a rotating turret. The hull is low and fairly wide, the running gear rests on torsion bars and the track is noticeably wider than on its predecessors, so the vehicle coped better with soft terrain. It went into action in Europe only in the last months of the war, but afterward it stayed in service with a number of armies for many years.

The etched metal aims at the places where a plastic part comes out of production thicker than the reality: thin sheets, grilles, eyes, clasps and similar small items get the right thickness and a crisp edge. The set does not change the basic shape of the model; it refines its surface.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Cut through them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and do not break them out, so that the part does not twist. Make the bends along the marked scores, best in a bending tool or by laying the flat jaw of a pair of pliers against the edge. Glue them to the model with cyanoacrylate glue, applied in drops from a stick or a piece of wire. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and use a base color, otherwise the shade rubs off the smooth surface easily.
For modelers who want to take the level of detail on an M24 Chaffee model beyond what plastic parts allow. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
