Lithokraft 1:35 radiator grille for the M54A2 truck is a resin accessory that, according to the manufacturer, is aimed at AFV Club kits. It replaces the simplified plastic grille with a finely rendered part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small add-on set for a build, not a model of the vehicle. The set replaces the radiator grille of the American five-ton M54A2 truck in 1:35 scale with a resin part whose louvers are more finely drawn than injection molding into a die can achieve. The manufacturer intends it for AFV Club kits.
The M54 was a five-ton 6x6 truck of the American M39 range, introduced from the 1950s and serving for decades. It carried cargo and troops, took tanker, crane and workshop bodies, and during the Vietnam War it also served as the basis of improvised armored vehicles for convoy protection. The front panel with the radiator grille is a prominent visual element on these trucks: it sits right on the line of sight onto the model, and every inaccuracy in the spacing of the louvers shows on it. That is exactly why the grille on a truck is among the first things to be upgraded.
Separate the part from the print supports, level the back face and dry-fit it into the frame of the panel; sand off any overhang. Glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic will not make the joint. Apply a primer before painting. The grille is best painted separately from the body and only then seated, because paint running between the louvers is hard to put right afterwards. Darken the recesses with a wash, lift the edges with a dry brush and apply dust with pigment from the bottom upwards.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base AFV Club kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
