A figure of a German officer with the rank of Oberleutnant from the period of the Second World War, 1:35 scale. A figure around which a whole scene can be built.
Responsibility details are not available.
Oberleutnant corresponds to the rank of first lieutenant. In the infantry this was an officer who commanded a platoon or a company, that is a man whose place was among the soldiers, not in the rear. The word Grenadier in the designation of German infantry regiments is not an antique from the eighteenth century: the infantry regiments of the Wehrmacht received it during the war in a renaming, and from then on entirely ordinary infantry units were called grenadier units as well. The officer figure therefore fits any scene from the later part of the war where somebody has to command.
One figure of a German officer in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale usual for models of ground vehicles and for dioramas. An officer figure tends to be the one in a scene that holds the action: the other figures turn toward it, while it points the way or reads a map.
Cut away surplus material a short distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder; scrape the traces of manufacture off with a blade held flat, so that the folds are not damaged. Wash the figure, degrease it and spray it with a base color. With an officer the face is what decides, so take your time over it: a darker undercoat, two or three lighter layers and only at the end the eyes. The uniform comes to life with a wash into the folds and a lighter tint on the taut areas. Choose the shades according to the documentation for the period you are building, and unify the finished figure with a matte varnish.
For builders of dioramas and for modelers who want a commanding figure with a model of a vehicle. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
