Road wheel masks for the Panther Ausf. D in 1:35 scale, cut for Tamiya kits. You can deal with the interleaved running gear without hours of brush work.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for painting the road wheels of the German Panther tank in the Ausf. D version in 1:35 scale. The set is cut for kits from Tamiya. The Panther has its road wheels arranged in an interleaved pattern and there are a great many of them, so outlining the tire bands by hand is an evening's work.
The Panther was designed as an answer to the Soviet T-34 and combined a powerful long-barreled gun, sloped frontal armor and an unusually soft suspension with interleaved road wheels. The Ausf. D was the first production version and you can recognize it by the box-shaped driver's vision port and by the cylindrical vision cupola on the side of the turret. Early machines suffered from powerpack failures that were put right as production went on.
The wheel is placed in the cutout in the flexible mask, which covers the rubber tire band and exposes the disc. Paint the tire band first, then fit the mask and spray over the disc. Do not stretch the mask and press it down with a pointed wooden stick once it is seated. According to the manufacturer the masks can be used again after cleaning, which is especially handy with interleaved running gear.
This is a painting aid and does not contain the model itself. Paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
