The set is an accessory for a build, not a model of the vehicle. To the right fender of the German Panzer III medium tank in 1:35 scale it adds a stowage box in the pattern that, according to the manufacturer, the 24th Panzer Division had made for itself. The box is resin and carries fine detail of the hinges and catches, which usually gets lost on plastic parts.
The Panzer III was the main German medium tank of the first half of the war and served from the Polish campaign to the battlefields of the Eastern Front and North Africa. Crews and unit workshops fitted boxes, racks and carriers for kit to the vehicles afterwards, because the space inside the hull was limited. Such a modification differed from division to division and tends to be so characteristic of a particular unit that a vehicle in a photograph can be assigned by it. The 24th Panzer Division was formed at the end of 1941 by converting a cavalry division, in 1942 it fought on the southern sector of the Eastern Front and ceased to exist in the encirclement at Stalingrad; later it was raised again.
Cut the part off the print supports, level the face that meets the fender and dry-fit the box on the model before gluing. Glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic does not react with it. Apply a primer before painting. Darken the inside of the box and the gaps around the hinges with a wash, and go over the top faces with a lighter shade instead, so that the detail does not disappear under the paint.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
