The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light and the Sd.Kfz. 251 a medium half-tracked armored personnel carrier of the German army. Both vehicles were built in a series of versions and served throughout the war, so they are among the most frequently built German equipment of all. The vehicle carried its tools on the outside, within the crew's reach, and their arrangement differed from one example to another according to the production batch and to whatever the crew added in the field.

Building and painting tips

• Compare the arrangement of the parts on the vehicle with the manufacturer's instructions and with period pictures of the particular version.
• Cut any excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back.
• Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, and choose the glue according to the material of the parts.
• Glue the mounts on before the tools themselves, as an empty space is easier to reach.
• If the set contains parts with wooden sections, paint them separately from the metal ones, as the contrast of the two materials makes the result.
