A set of workable plastic T51 type tracks for the American M4 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale from Bronco. It is not a vehicle model, but an accessory for a kit that is already built: the individual links join into a track run that stays movable and can be shaped over the road wheels.
The T51 was the oldest track type of American medium tanks of the Second World War period. Its contact face was a solid rubber block with a smooth surface and no pattern, so the track did no damage to a road surface and was quiet, but it lost grip in mud and on wet grass. That is exactly why patterned tracks and later all-steel types gradually took over. On early Shermans, though, the T51 track is typical, and on a model the smooth rubber with no tread gives it away.
Deburr the links carefully and sand back the mold lines. Apply liquid cement sparingly and only at the designated points, so that it does not run into the joints and destroy the movement. Smooth rubber with no pattern is painted differently from a steel track: a very dark gray shade suits it, not black, with light dusting along the sides. Count the number of links you need from the instructions before you close the run. Paint the track separately from the hull and fit it last.
It is an accessory set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
