The set is an add-on for a build, not a model of the vehicle. It holds spare road wheels for the StuG III and Panzer III in 1:35 scale, according to the manufacturer in two forms and with the carrier mounts on which the wheels were carried on the hull. The 95 mm figure is the width of the tire band of the real wheel, and the letter V is the pressing pattern of the wheel rim — both need to be checked on the box and against a photograph of the vehicle, because the wheels differ between production batches.
The Panzer III and the StuG III assault gun built on its chassis carried road wheels with a rubber tire band whose rim changed several times during production. Crews also carried spare wheels on the vehicle itself, most often on the rear of the hull in bolt-on holders: some vehicles had two, many only one. A spare wheel is therefore a rewarding detail that gives a model a period look even where the rest of the vehicle looks standard. For accuracy it is essential that the rim pattern matches the period and the production batch of the vehicle being built.
Separate the wheels from the print supports and level the seating surfaces; sand the resin wet and with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a primer before painting. Pick out the rubber tire band in a matte dark gray shade rather than black, and dirty the wheel with an earth pigment more heavily than the rest of the hull — spare wheels were always dusty.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
