A set of masks for painting the road wheels of the Soviet T-34 medium tank and of the SU-85 and SU-122 self-propelled guns in 1:35 scale. This set is cut for kits from Tamiya. Because masks are designed for one specific wheel, a similar set for Dragon models also exists; pick the one that matches your kit, otherwise the wheel will not fit the cutout.
The wheel is placed in the cutout in the flexible mask, which covers the rubber tire band and exposes the metal disc. You spray the color of the disc and take the wheel out. According to the manufacturer the masks can be used several times after cleaning. The best sequence is to paint the tire band first, then fit the mask and spray over the disc.
Do not pull the mask hard, stretching deforms the flexible material. Once it is seated, press it down with a pointed wooden stick so that it follows the surface of the wheel. Do not lay two coats of paint on the edge of the mask. Spray perpendicular to the surface and in thin coats. When you are done, clean the masks and store them flat so that they keep their shape for the next time.
