Individual track links for the Tiger I heavy tank in the early production standard, in 1:35 scale. The links assemble into a continuous track that stays workable, so once put together it can be made to sag naturally between the return rollers and adapted to the terrain on a base. It is precisely the sag and the way the track beds down on the rollers that is among the first things anyone notices on a finished model.
First sort the links and free them of excess material; every remnant on a mating surface adds up along the whole track and the length then does not come out right. Join them in shorter runs according to the manufacturer's instructions and let the finished pieces set on a flat surface. Take care that no glue gets into the joints, otherwise the track will stiffen and the point of a workable design is lost.
The track can be painted assembled or in sections; in either case it is easier to fit it onto the model before the running gear is covered by the fenders. Try laying the whole track dry first and count how many links you really need, and only then join them for good. Before painting, wash and degrease the assembly so that the coat holds even in the places where the track bends while being seated.
A track set is supplied. The tank kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
