TV antenna, 1:35 — a 3D-printed resin TV antenna for dioramas in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed resin TV antenna in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer gives one piece in the package. It is a civilian scenic accessory for the roof of a building; in the same sub-line the manufacturer also lists a satellite dish and a mobile network antenna, so a roof can be filled according to the period the scene portrays.
The roof of a house is an area in a diorama that usually stays empty, and yet it is precisely what places a scene in time. A classic TV antenna with its cross elements belongs to the second half of the twentieth century, so it moves a scene to the period when there was one in every street. At the same time it is a very thin structure that injection-molded plastic could not manage; resin printing keeps the individual elements separate and thin enough to look convincing.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
